Located on Fraser Island (K'GARI) in Queensland off the coast of Hervey Bay

4WD access only - via inland track Woralie Road (took us approximately 1.5 hours as it's sandy, tight and like a rabbit warren in places) - we towed our hybrid caravan, however not suitable for caravans
Access on low tide, as it's sandy and creek crossings become impassable on high tides
Take a tinny and launch it straight off the beach
Ideal for paddle boarding and kayaking
Freshwater creek
Beware of dingoes
We visited in September and saw heaps of whales - we could even hear them singing at night!
Pets not permitted anywhere on the island

Great winter camp if you're wanting to chase a little bit of snow (timing has to be perfect though, as snow is occasional)

Located 1 hour west of Grafton NSW along Gwydir Highway
Easy drive up to the stunning Gibraltar Range and Washpool National Park with awesome hikes, stunning waterfalls and clear swimming holes
Camping access via Cangai Bridge - 4WD required for some sections (rocky)
Free-form camping for kilometers along the river - no allocated sites
Off-grid - zero facilities or reception
Can get very busy on weekends and peak times
River was flowing hard, however quieter areas ideal for swimming and kayaking

10 minutes to Jackadgery General Store - fuel, food, supplies and a dump point

Great surfing beach - for learners like us!
Korogoro Creek is stunning on high tide - crystal clear
Great for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing
Headland walks
Jetty jumping, playground, boat ramp
Campground offers hot showers, flushing toilets, laundry, camp kitchen and coffee van (most of the time)
Bowling Club is right next door and has great meals and often live music

Yuraygir National Park
Between Coffs Harbour and Yamba
Road to the campground is suitable for 2WD, however there is a small causeway
Pebbly Beach is neighboring campground (located on the beach), accessible via the beach and you need to cross a saltwater creek to get there
Station Creek campground is small, bushy (minimal solar) and
Jetty at Station Creek campground, great for jetty jumping
